Evraz: Air Liquide builds 130 mln euro oxygen plant in Novokuznetsk

MOSCOW, Jun 21 (PRIME) -- Evraz ZSMK, a subsidiary of mining company and metals producer Evraz, and France’s Air Liquide launched a 130 million euro plant to separate gas, including oxigen in the Russian city of Novokuznetsk, Evraz said in a statement on Monday.

“Air Liquide invested around 130 million euros in the project. Now, two air separation units will be able to supply gases not only to Evraz ZSMK, but to the industrial market of the Kemerovo Region as well. They are built under international environmental standards, which will reduce air pollution significantly,” the statement read.

The two units will produce 1,500 tonnes of oxygen per day each, and will supply oxygen, nitrogen, and argon for the construction and rail mill of Evraz ZSMK. The energy efficiency of the units is 30% higher than the efficiency of the previous oxygen units of the subsidiary of Evraz, the company said.
